Getting a Color Approved

Siding, trim and door color is one of the most common topics the board discusses. Here's how a color change gets approved today.

Before you buy paint or siding

How Color Approval Works

Every exterior color change goes through the Architectural Control Committee (ACC), the same as any other exterior modification. Siding, trim and front doors are all included.

  1. 1Choose your color. Write down the brand, the color name and the color code from the paint chip or siding sample.
  2. 2Submit an Exterior Modification Form. Say which part of the house the color is for, and attach a photo of the chip or sample.
  3. 3Wait for ACC approval before you buy materials or start work.

Not Sure If You Need a Request?

Exact repairs and replacements are the only exception to the request rule. If you're not sure whether your project counts, ask the board through the contact page before work begins.

Submit It Through the ACC

Approval comes before work begins, the same as any other exterior modification.
