Reviews every exterior modification request to make sure it fits community standards and won't clash with neighboring homes.

After the fact

Notices & Warnings

Issues a notice when something doesn't match the approved guidelines, with a chance to fix it before further action.

Planning an exterior change?

Exterior Modification Request

Any exterior modification, including paint color, fencing, additions, sheds, and landscaping beyond routine maintenance, requires ACC approval before work begins. Fill out the form and submit it online, or use the fillable PDF if you'd rather.

Attach photos, a sketch, a material sample, or your contractor's estimate right on the form. The ACC receives everything by email, and you get a confirmation with a reference number.

Up to 6 files: a site plan or sketch, photos of the current condition, material or color samples, or a contractor estimate. JPG, PNG, PDF, or Word. Large photos are shrunk automatically.

Renting Out Your Home, or Using a Property Manager?

The board keeps a record of which homes are owner-occupied, rented, or professionally managed, along with current contact information for each. If that applies to you, register or update it on the Rental & Property Manager Registration page.

Thinking About Removing a Tree?

The board is not currently requiring approval to remove trees. You don't need this form for it. See the Trees page for the one rule that still applies and what Montgomery County requires.

Repainting or Replacing Siding, Trim, or a Door?

Color is a big part of what the board discusses, and it needs ACC approval like any other exterior change. Submit your color choice through this form with the brand, color name and color code, and the ACC will review it. See the Approved Colors page for the steps.
