The Flower Hill Pool
Three pools, a diving well, and a whole summer of it. The pool is one of the best reasons to live here, and a meaningful part of what your HOA dues support. Here's everything you need to get in the gate.
You Must Register Online Before You Can Get In
All persons using the pool are required to register online at Membersplash for pool access to gain admission. Only homeowners or residents with a valid, current lease may register. Leases can be provided through the registration link or to the onsite office. Once registered, add every household member to your account, including a photo if possible; anyone without a photo on file needs to bring a photo ID to the pool desk.
✓ Step by step
- Go to the Membersplash registration page and click "Register an Account" in the upper right.
- Set up your email and password, and enter your name, address, and sub-association (Westwind).
- Renting? Upload your current lease where it says "Renter Proof of Residency."
- Submit, then allow at least 1 business day for review and activation.
- Once activated, log back in and add household members' names, birthdates, and photos if you can.
- That's it. Head to the pool and give the lifeguards your name. No photo on file just means bringing an ID.
You only register once, ever. No need to re-register next season. If your household changes, just log back in and update it.
What's Actually There
The Flower Hill pool complex includes a wading pool for little ones, a dedicated lap pool, and a 50-meter main pool with 25-meter lap lanes, a children's area, and a diving well. There's plenty of room for lap swimmers, swim team practice, and everyone just there to cool off.
Hours Follow the School Calendar
Exact opening/closing dates shift a little each year with the school calendar and holidays. Always double-check the current-season dates on FHCC's site before you head over. The general pattern:
School Still in Session
Weekdays: 4–8 PM
Weekends & holidays: 12–8 PM
Every Day
12–8 PM, daily, for the full stretch of summer break.
School Back in Session
Weekdays: 4–8 PM
Weekends & holidays: 12–8 PM, through Labor Day.
The pool itself: 301-208-1553. Note that FHCC's onsite management office (Mon–Fri, 9 AM–5 PM) is a separate office from the pool and is not open during pool hours. For after-hours management questions, use the Flower Hill Central contact info.
Pool Rules, in Plain Language
These are FHCC's official rules, grouped by topic so you can actually find what you're looking for. Breaking any of these can mean removal from the pool for the day, and repeat issues go to the Board.
1 Getting In
- Register online at Membersplash before your first visit. No exceptions.
- Add photos for household members if you can; no photo on file means bring an ID.
- Guests need a registered member 16+ with them to sign in.
- Each account gets 10 free guest credits a year; extra credits are $15 per 10, purchased at the office (check or money order only, no cash or card; lifeguards can't process payments).
- Max 5 guest passes per account per day.
- No one under 13 is allowed in without a resident or patron 16 or older. No exceptions.
2 Safety & Supervision
- Lifeguards' instructions are final. Dangerous conduct can mean an on-the-spot ban.
- Adult swim / rest periods happen at staff discretion; "adult" means 16+.
- Only kids 7 and under may use the wading pool, and supervision there is the parent's job, not the lifeguards'.
- No diving except at the diving well. The main pool is never an "open well."
- No prolonged breath-holding or distance underwater swimming.
- Life preservers aren't permitted; inner tubes/flotation devices are allowed at lifeguard discretion, and non-water-safe kids using them must stay within reach of a water-safe adult.
3 Health & Hygiene
- Shower before swimming. This one's required.
- Admission can be refused for skin abrasions, colds, coughs, eye infections, or bandages.
- Non-potty-trained kids need rubber pants and a swim diaper. Regular disposable diapers aren't allowed in the water.
- No spitting, nose-blowing, or introducing dirt into the pool.
4 Conduct
- No running, pushing, dunking, wrestling, or horseplay.
- No abusive or profane language, and no fighting. Fighting means suspension and Board review.
- Never touch a lifeguard during a dispute, and lifeguards won't touch patrons either.
- A lifeguard can suspend you on the spot; if that happens, leave the pool area immediately. The onsite manager will follow up within 48 hours.
5 What to Leave at Home
- No glass anywhere in the pool area.
- No bikes, scooters, roller skates/blades, hoverboards, or skateboards. Lifeguards will hold them until you leave.
- No smoking or vaping anywhere in the facility.
- No alcohol, and no admission if you appear to be under the influence.
- No pets.
- No loud stereos or TVs.
6 Food, Trash & Property
- Eating and drinking only in designated areas; non-alcoholic drinks in spill-proof containers (or water) are fine anywhere.
- All trash goes in containers. Help keep the area clean.
- Members are responsible for their guests' actions, including any property damage.
- FHCC and management aren't responsible for lost or damaged personal property.
This is a plain-language summary of FHCC's official pool rules for quick reference. If anything here ever seems to conflict with the official version, the official rules and regulations control.
